by definition.....shut all devices runing on electricity....
1) Lap top is 'on' using a battery [1] that was charged using the electricity before and when u switch it back u will use the same amt to charge it back.... I will charge my laptop at 9:30 again wohoooo.....
saving = 0
2) Cell phone on [1] ...battery charged...blah blah.... i will charge cell phone at 9:3-pm ....
saving = 0
Now the biggest QUESTION for all................
... anybody who answers this convincingly.......i will take my words back.....

So i think the concept should be "save energy for future" and not save energy...

The most important question is that why do you need special "earth hours" to save energy. If someone's really concerned about it he would prevent its wastage everyday! Earth Hour mhaney!

I agree with you. There is so much of electricity wasted in Rutgers that if used in some villages in India they will never have power cuts.....

Earth hour is not for saving energy per se ... but for creating awareness (about global warming) so that in the long run energy is saved. Of course that one hour is not going to do anyone any good. But just that maybe more people will start making a conscious effort to not waste energy in everyday life.
